Long side panels, body lines and adjoining doors make preparation and finish matching part of the assessment. Note any previous paint work, wrap or protective film near the damage.
Ask the estimator to explain panel repair, replacement, blending and trim removal as separate parts of the scope. A paint code helps identify a starting formula but does not replace matching the vehicle’s existing finish.
